Common LTI Problems

If everything was successful, you should see the page to view and accept the terms of use.

If you don’t see the “Terms of Use” screen, there are a number of reason why that could happen. The following images will show some example results with reasons why you might get that result.

 

This is the result that will appear if the link is valid, but the consumer key or secret are incorrect.

This is what will appear if the link is a valid link and the consumer key and secret are in the database, but don't match the site.

This is what shows up if the link has a valid subdomain but an invalid course slug.
Note: If the consumer key and secret were correct, a user will still be created.

This is what will appear if you entered a link with a non-existing subdomain.

This is what will appear if you did not send a first name, last name, or email address.

This is what will appear if someone clicks the link and had an email address that was already used. This is a common problem for people using a test and production server, you are not allowed to use the same email for both.
